Here are just a few gems in programming to highlight for the week of March 4, 2024.

Understanding Fostering and Adoption - Forsyth Reads Together

When: Monday, March 4 at 6:00–7:00 p.m.

Where: Hampton Park Library

What: Mystery surrounds foster care services and misinformation abounds. Cara Bowen with the Department of Human Services will speak about

foster care myths and facts.

Fight Back Like a Girl - Women's Self-Defense (Celebrating Women Series)

When: Wednesday, March 6 at 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Where: Cumming Library

What: Take an active role in your personal safety through situational awareness and hands-on training in self-defense for women offered by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department.

Build a Barbie Dream House - National Barbie Day

When: Saturday, March 9 at 2:00–3:30 p.m. 

Where: Cumming Library

What: Using provided recycling materials and their own big imaginations, families will work together to build a Barbie house of their dreams. For all ages.

Birding with the Library

When: Saturday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Where: Chattahoochee Pointe Park (5790 Chattahoochee Pointe Drive, Suwanee, GA)

What: Join us on a walk through Chattahoochee Pointe Park led by Sheridan Alford of Birds Georgia and learn how to identify local birds, how to use binoculars, and how to connect with nature. Please bring water and wear suitable footwear and clothing. The program will meet in Meeting Room B of the Sharon Forks Library if the weather is unfavorable.

Brewing Up Business: Women in the Craft Brewing Industry - Celebrating Women Series

When: Sunday, March 10 at 2:00–3:00 p.m.

Where: Post Road Library

What:  Join Liv Ryan and Bree Sanders from NoFo Brew Co to learn about their experience in a male dominated industry, how their varied backgrounds brought them to their current careers, and how the industry is becoming more inclusive.
