Exciting News Regarding Longevity Pay

At the November 17 Board Meeting our board approved a change to our Longevity Pay Policy (see below - H-11 from the Personnel Manual). The great news is, with this change our CSAs are now eligible for Longevity Pay!

Previously, only classified employees who have been employed 5 years or more were eligible. Now ALL employees who have been with FCPL 5 years or more are eligible.

First, you must be an active employee as of November 1, 2025. Below is an example how the Longevity Pay is calculated based on the hours worked. The pay is $100 for full time staff and then the amount is prorated based on the number of hours worked per week.

Hours Worked Per Week	# Years Employed	$ First Year
40 hours	5 years	$100.00 x 5  =  $500.00
25 hours	5 years	$62.50 x 5  =  $312.50
15 hours	5 years	$37.50 x 5  =  $187.50

Longevity Pay is processed once a year and is separate from the normal payroll processing. This usually happens in November of every year but as a reminder it is dependent on funding. This year the Longevity Pay will be paid on Friday, November 21.

H-11.   Longevity Pay (new policy)

Longevity pay recognizes and rewards long-term service for eligible employees. In order to be eligible, an employee must have been employed by FCPL for five (5) years. A rehired employee will receive credit for prior years of service. Longevity pay is calculated by $100 times the number of complete years of service for full-time employees. $100 x 5 years of service = $500. Years of service will be pro-rated for part-time employees. An employee must be at active status in order to receive longevity pay. Longevity pay is paid once a year in the second quarter of the fiscal year. It is not included in base pay, but is subject to taxation and contributions for all employees enrolled in Teachers Retirement System of Georgia. The availability of longevity pay benefits will be subject to funding.    Effective 11/18/2025, Board approved.
