Book Drops Closed- by Denise Leeson

Supervisory staff coming into work have noticed a significantly lower number of items coming into the bookdrops at each branch. While patrons are keeping most items at home, some are still driving through to leave items at the library. To help ensure staff health and discourage patrons from touching the book drops we have decided to close the drops to the public. Thanks to Dave Safstrom as of 1:00 p.m. today the Cumming bookdrops are locked and taped off. Dave manufactured a flag to close the CU drive up and then taped off the walk up drop. He visited Sharon Forks and Post Road to help close their drops to the public this afternoon. Ross taped shut the Hampton Park drops. Signs were placed on the drops and Tracy updated the public blog to state that materials are no longer being accepted. Jeff Fisher is working to have our newspaper subscriptions placed on hold as several papers are placed into the drops at some of the branches and others thrown to the front doors. We will open these back up when we have Library reopening dates.
