Closure update

We previously announced that we are closed through March 31.  As anticipated, we will need to continue to be closed after March 31 in light of Governor Kemp’s 3/23/20 executive order (no gatherings of 10+ through April 6), the County’s emergency declaration, and the uncertainty of the current situation.  In order to prevent repeated press releases and announcements, our new closing date will be “until further notice.”

We will change the due date for all checked out items to June 1 and we will cancel programs through May 31.  Please do not interpret this to mean that we are closed through May 31; we will hopefully reopen before then.  We will reopen as soon as we can do so in a manner that is safe for our staff and patrons.  The timing of resuming programs, which encourage patrons to congregate in one space, is a separate decision.

Personally I’m looking for the silver lining in this social-distancing period.  I hope you are all getting to enjoy quality time with your families—and books!
