Welcome to the FCPL Staff Blog, which was created to
connect with staff during the COVID-19 situation. You should be able to reach this blog from
the device and location of your choice.
We are on the third day of being closed to the public due
to COVID-19. When we made the decision
last Friday to close beginning Sunday, we were one of the first systems in
Georgia to make this decision. As of
2:40 PM on Tuesday, 48 of 62 library systems in Georgia are closed and most of
the remaining systems have closed some locations and/or cancelled programs and
meeting room use.
We will make a decision about next week by Friday, March
20th, but expect to make it sooner. As
you likely know, the Forsyth County Schools will be closed through the end of
Spring Break.
Most supervisory staff are at work; some are working from
home, taking leave time, or a combination of options. Speaking just for HQ supervisors, it is quiet
around here. Social distancing is pretty
easy, as we are spread throughout the building.
Yesterday evening we had our regularly scheduled Board meeting (pictured
below). Instead of using the regular
Board table, we used an arrangement (designed by Joan Dudzinski) that allowed
for social distancing.
