Monica’s Farewell

Last Friday, March 20^th was already a somber day, there was very limited staff here at HQ, it was Friday but there wasn’t any of the usual hustle and bustle sounds in the lobby and even worse it was Monica Hennings’ final day at FCPL.

Monica started working at FCPL 22 years ago as a CSA.  She held several positions, which I thought I’d list for you (please note some positions do not exist anymore): Circulation Assistant > Support Services Assistant > Accounting Assistant > Support Services Specialist > Financial Coordinator (which she held since 2005). Many of you worked with Monica over the years and as Financial Coordinator she probably reached out to you or your department with financial questions.

You may be scratching your heads right now and thinking to yourself that Monica wasn’t supposed to leave until this Friday, March 27^th.  Toward the end of last week she made the decision to move her date up a week.  On Friday we held a small “social distancing” farewell for Monica at the CU meeting room.  Though it was not the one I imagined we did the best we could.  Special shout out to Sarah Reynolds for her decorating skills, much appreciated. 

Monica will be truly missed……….
