Yesterday the Leadership Team evaluated FCPL services and protocols in light of the current spike in COVID-19 cases in the community. We determined that most of our current protocols are serving us well and only have a few modifications.
In-person programming will resume on Saturday, January 8th, but not necessarily at the same pace as the last several months. Some programs may be modified or postponed to enhance staff and patron safety. Please see Cleo’s blog post from yesterday for additional information.
All staff should continue to wear masks in shared spaces. Staff with offices should wear masks when the doors to their offices are open.
Staff should schedule virtual meetings when feasible and/or effective for the nature of the meeting. Staff meeting in person should remain masked.
Cleaning wipes and hand sanitizer should be readily available to both staff and patrons. Please make sure these are located in highly visible areas for easy access. (Branch Managers have noted that patrons seem to have a renewed interest in cleaning their library workspaces.)
Please do not come to work when you have symptoms of a contagious illness (e.g., COVID, cold, flu)—even if you know your branch or department is short-staffed! We know that staffing levels and workloads have been affected by staff absences. Please make sure your supervisor is aware of any workload challenges you are facing. We will modify services or hours if needed.
THANK YOU to every employee who has followed our reporting,
quarantining, and testing protocols. Your vigilance had a positive impact on
others’ health.
