The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is expected to update its mask advice this week to reflect the available options and different levels of protection they provide. It is expected that they will be recommending that for the best protection you wear either KN95 or N95 masks. These masks can filter 95% of particles in the air.
Out of an abundance of caution for our employees, FCPL has
ordered KN95 masks for employee use. The
masks are expected to be delivered between January 20th – 28th
and will be distributed to all locations. These masks offer 5-layer filter for
protection, are made from a durable, skin-friendly material and are moisture
resistant. They are also reusable and
come individually wrapped.
The masks are offered as another option to you if you choose
to wear them. You may still wear cloth
or surgical type masks if you choose. We will still have the blue surgical type
masks for distribution to patrons.
