Staff Reading Challenge Update

The 2021 FCPL Reading Challenge is in full swing.  Forty six staff members have signed up to participate in the reading challenge.  Staff representing all four libraries and Headquarters are participating in the challenge.  The various challenges are being promoted to patrons in a respective month throughout 2021, but the challenges may be completed in any order.

The monthly challenge that has seen the most activity so far is 'Reread a Childhood Favorite or Read a Children's Book Published within the Last Five Years.' This particular challenge was promoted to patrons in January.  As of late February, over 35 staff members had completed this challenge, with titles ranging from Charlotte's Web, the Secret Garden, to Bunnicula.

The challenge 'Read a Book that was Made into a Movie or TV Series' is the next most popular challenge with staff at the end of February, with twenty completions.   Titles read by staff have included books made into films, such as No Country for Old Men and Gone Girl, as well as titles made into television programs, including the Handmaid's Tale and Outlander.

Staff have completed challenges by reading in a variety of formats.  Books have been read in print, large print, and electronic form.  Staff have also listened to physical audiobooks and eAudiobooks as well.
