Coming soon to a branch near you…
The new Savvy Senior Kits funded by a grant from United Way are headed your way! The kits are created for adults 55 andEach library will receive one Savvy Senior Kit for each of the following themes:
- Caregiving
- Financial Planning
- Making Connections
- Memory Retention
- Senior Dating
- Travel
Each kit contains books relevant to the subject matter; manipulatives such as recordings, equipment, games, activities, and other materials that relate to the topic; and lists of local, state, and federal resources and organizations pertaining to the subject.
The Savvy Senior kits are in new forest green tote bags branded with the FCPL logo. These are the same type of canvas bags as the Storytime Takeout Kits
As inserts need to be replaced, all guides except for the Senior Services booklet are located on Drive. We have a few extra Senior Services booklets in Materials, so you can email us to send one over for any kits missing a guide.
Print and laminate replacement inserts as needed. Drive also contains pictorial content guides to help staff identify kit pieces. Please look in the Materials - Collections - Savvy Senior and Materials - Collections - Caregiver Kits folders, or use the search function within Drive.
Because many of the new Savvy Senior Kits contain many parts, wording has been placed on the kits for patrons to notify staff of missing pieces. We do not need to count each and every piece when it is returned.
Kits will be in the courier on Monday, October 24. Each branch will shelve the kits in a location to be determined by the Branch Manager. An 8.5 x 11 flyer has been sent to each branch to highlight them in the collection.
