Circulation of the Adult Music collection declined by 72% system wide from fiscal year 2015 to fiscal year 2022. During this period fiscal year 2015 saw the highest level of circulation at the Cumming Library, Hampton Park Library, and Sharon Forks Library. Circulation at the Post Road Library peaked in fiscal year 2016.
There has been substantial weeding of the Adult Music collection over the last two fiscal years, with the Adult Music collection at Post Road being removed in the spring of 2022. Given this reduction in collection size, combined with the reduced circulation of the collection, the decision has been made to consolidate the collection at the Cumming Library.
The Adult Music collection, when consolidated at the Cumming Library, will be made up of approximately 1,150 items. Adult Music will be weeded at the Hampton Park Library and the Sharon Forks Library in mid-October. Items will either be discarded for condition and low circulation or 'kept' and temporarily sent to the Materials Department. Cumming Library will weed their Adult Music collection in late October and early November, and then receive the remaining items from Hampton Park and Sharon Forks.
