On Friday May 17, CSAs from all branches gathered at the Cumming Library for our inaugural CSA training day. It was a great day filled with fun, food, and camaraderie. Training topics included Polaris Leap tips and tricks, presented by Olivia Kolosna, AMH and cart safety, presented by Teresa Santangelo, SNAGs and weeding, presented by Andrea DelValle, and minor book repair, presented by Brittany Mayo.

Teresa brought an emergency stop button to demonstrate AMH safety tips.
CSAs used their cell phones to interact in real time to determine what should be a SNAG and what should be sent to Materials during Andrea’s presentation.
Brittany challenged the CSAs to decide what to repair in the branch and what to withdraw.
Sandwiched between the training sessions, our CSAs toured the Materials department with Jeff Fisher and gained insight on how new books are processed, as well as how the department is able to repair broken spines with their state-of-the-art glue machine.
Anthony Caspanello presented a fun and competitive book spine trivia game to challenge how well we know our Juvenile series books!

Many thanks to library staff who held down the fort at each of the branches so our CSAs could have a fun filled day of laughing and learning!
