Forsyth County Public Library was a recent recipient of a generous donation from the nonprofit Kares 4 Kids, which is affiliated with the charity arm of Keller Williams Realty. The Library was given a financial donation with the purpose of buying board books for all four Libraries and the Bookmobile.
The donation from Kares 4 Kids purchased 1221 total board books. Janice Anderson in the Materials Department was tasked with selecting titles for purchase. Many of the titles selected will be quite familiar to Library staff and patrons.
The breakdown is as follows:
Cumming-243
Hampton Park-153
Post Road-241
Sharon Forks-444
Bookmobile-140 (this purchased the entire amount of board books we hoped to start the Bookmobile with)
Personnel from Kares 4 Kids and Keller Williams dropped by the Sharon Forks Library on June 23 to take a brief tour of the Library, as well as place donation bookplates on the titles. Cleo Joyce did a great job showing the visitors around and providing information about the Library. One person was quite pleased to see that Pout Pout Fish had been purchased.

Is the library going to respond to the comments on our Facebook page about this photo? -Mary Kretsch
ReplyDeleteHello Mary, In hindsight, we probably should have responded to these comments yesterday, but since there have been no comments in 22 hours, we will not respond. Also in hindsight, we should have required members of this group to wear masks. This was a learning experience that has already influenced my decision-making about making exceptions during this time. I apologize to Sharon Forks staff who felt uncomfortable during this group's visit. This event had been rescheduled from pre-COVID days and we wanted to recognize the group for their generous donation for children's materials.
