With the library reopening on June 15, we have made the following decision on how to handle printed notices, the small and large balance programs:
Printed Hold notices – We will have Unique send them because
staff will not have time to call to let hold mailer patrons know they have
items ready for pickup. Email/text and phone hold notices will continue on the current schedule.
Printed Overdue notices – We will not have Unique send them because with the delay in checking in it may cause more mailers to be sent
which could confuse patrons and generate more phone calls. Email/text and phone overdue notices will also not be sent.
Printed Billing notices – We will have Unique send these notices because we
do need to alert patrons that they have lost (49 days after due date) items that they need to return or
pay for. These notices are always mailers.
Small balance programs/Large
balance program – We will not be sending any patrons to the small or large balance program during this time due to existing shelter in place orders, unusual library open hours and delays in checking in items.
