From virtual to in-person and everything in between, there
are a lot of exciting programs happening at FCPL this summer! Check the blog
this summer for weekly programming picks!

Did you know that FCPL offers a variety of programs for
writers including writing groups?
Teen and Tween Writing Groups
Where: CU
These groups, run by Youth Specialist Holly Raus, give teens and tweens a space
to share their original writing and improve their writing through fun
activities.
Adult Writing Groups
Where: CU, PR, and SF
These writing groups focus on critiquing and providing feedback on works in
progress. Attendees are invited to submit their work ahead of time for group
members to review. There are several writers in these groups that have been
published and writing ranges from picture books and teen novels to nonfiction
to fiction, fantasy, and sci-fi and even songwriting.
The Post Road and Sharon Forks adult writing groups have been running successfully for the past several years and Cumming will be starting a new group beginning in September.
Throughout the year, FCPL also offers additional programming
focusing on writers which has included writing workshops with
published authors, local author showcases, genre author panels, and more. On August
15, the Sharon Forks Library will be hosting crime writer Debra Goldstein at the
program, Writing Crime: Take
What You Know and Turn It Into Murder which is part of the Scene of the
Crime program series taking place throughout August.
