Programming Picks

From virtual to in-person and everything in between, there are a lot of exciting programs happening at FCPL this summer! Check the blog this summer for weekly programming picks!

Program Picks for the week of July 26:

We made it! Summer Reading officially ends on July 31 and Forsyth County schools will be back in session on August 5. Check out what we have going on for the last week of summer. Stay tuned for more Programming Picks this fall as we bring back more regular and new programming.

Celebrating Libraries with Karin Slaughter and Jackie Cooper 
When: Tuesday, July 27 at 7:00 p.m.
Where: Virtual
What: Join Karin Slaughter in-conversation with Jackie Cooper to celebrate libraries and discuss Karin’s latest standalone, False Witness.  This program is exclusively being offered to several Georgia public libraries and is hosted by William Morrow/Harper Collins Publishers.

CAD with Tinkercad Workshop with Robotics for All
When: Tuesday, July 27 and Thursday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m.
Where: Virtual
What: This 8-week coding series concludes this week. Throughout the course of the program, kids in grades 4-6 have learned to design items to be 3D printed using CAD software. This week the class will conclude with students designing their final projects. The class has had a core group of 11-12 students who attended each week and is presented by instructors from Robotics for All. It’s been fun to watch the students learn and grow throughout this course!

STEMsational StoryLab
When: Tuesday, July 27 at 1:30 p.m.
Where: Post Road
What: It will be an explosion of fun and learning when STEM and stories collide in this event! Join us as we read a book and participate in an interactive learning experience. Lasting 45-60 minutes, this program is ideal for budding scientists who want to enjoy trying their experiments. 

This week at STEMsational StoryLab... What goes up must come down! Investigate gravity with fun experiments and learn more about what is keeping us firmly rooted to the Earth (and not floating in space!)

Page Turners
When: Tuesday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Sharon Forks
What: Join us on the fourth Tuesday of the month for lively book discussions. This month the group will be discussing Anxious People by Fredrik Backman.
