Summer Reading Fun... Bookmobile Style

Summer Reading Fun registration and programs on the bookmobile are in full swing, they just look a little different than things do at the branches. Many of our patrons have limited internet access and Beanstack is not the best option for them, so we decided to go old school! Outreach staff fills out a sign-up sheet with all pertinent information and then gives each patron a paper reading log and a free book. After the visit, information is entered on the bookmobile Beanstack account. These entries will be used for gift basket prize drawings just for Bookmobile patrons.

In June we registered more than 110 children and teens for the program and presented puppet shows, STEM experiments, and Giant Games at 8 of our regular stops. Patrons will get a second free book when we return this month and they return books and/or show us their reading logs. It is so exciting to see these kiddos and parents get excited about the library and reading. We are learning as we go and cannot wait to start planning for next summer!
