Booknotes

 submitted by Cleo Joyce

This summer FCPL, in partnership with the Lambert Orchestra, is premiering an exciting new program called Booknotes. Booknotes is a pre-recorded video pairing books and music together to create an immersive experience that brings literature to life. The featured book for this summer is The Camping Trip That Changed America : Theodore Roosevelt, John Muir, and Our National Parks by Barb Rosenstock. Booknotes also teaches about the orchestra, the different instruments, and related vocabulary as well as includes some educational facts about National Parks. One of the coolest things about this video is how prominently it features the student members of the orchestra--they had a big hand in making this amazing video.

You can watch the Booknotes video here!

We'll be promoting this program throughout the summer on social media and via our storytime email distribution list.

This video is the first step in a program we hope to grow with the Lambert Orchestra. As restrictions ease, we're looking towards being able to offer this program live at the library as well as in schools. Stay tuned for future news about Booknotes!
