Georgia Library Service (GLS) for the Blind and Print Disabled

New Name, Same Great Service: Georgia Libraries for Accessible Statewide Services (GLASS) has changed their name to Georgia Library Service (GLS) for the Blind and Print Disabled to better reflect what they do. But don’t worry, they will still provide the same great service to their patrons. GLS does a fantastic job of promoting the use of assistive technology and providing accessible reading materials. Their services available to the following patrons:

· Anyone who is unable to read or handle standard printed materials as a result of temporary or            permanent visual or physical disability.

· Persons who are legally blind or cannot see well enough or focus long enough to read standard print, even with glasses.

· Persons who are unable to hold or turn pages of print books.

· Persons who are certified by a medical doctor as having a reading disability.

In the coming months, GLS will be updating all of their materials to announce the new name. They will also introduce a more accessible and user-friendly website in the fall. Find out more about the change here.
