eMagazines Update

Beginning July 1, there will be some important changes to our collection of electronic magazines.  The bulk of the eMagazine collection will continue to be offered through OverDrive/LIBBY.  This includes over 3,000 titles, including many titles in languages such as Spanish and Mandarin.  FCPL gained access to this collection in the spring of 2021 and these titles will continue for patrons throughout the coming fiscal year.  

The Library also offers eMagazines through the Flipster database.  We are reducing the number of titles we offer in Flipster during the next fiscal year for several reasons.  Many of the titles we currently have in Flipster are also available in LIBBY.  These titles will not be renewed for Flipster.  Other titles in Flipster have had low usage over the last year.  These titles will not be renewed as well.  

The titles that will be carried in Flipster for the coming fiscal year are not available in OverDrive/LIBBY.  These titles also had high patron usage over the last fiscal year.  These include:

•  Better Homes and Gardens
• Do it Yourself
• People
• People en Espanol
• Southern Living
