We just received word from Summit
that the bookmobile will be delayed. The RV industry has exploded with
COVID-19 and the lead time on certain items have gotten much longer than
normal. The awning company has given them October 13 for delivery. We don’t
have a new date for the vehicle inspection or expected delivery. Some fun news is that our vehicle will be in the Virtual Bookmobile Tour during the Association of
Bookmobile and Outreach Services conference, which is taking place October
13-16.
While we don't have a specific route set, we have secured preliminary permission for stops at:
- Chestatee Community Building
- Holly Park Mobile Home Park
- Glenwood Trailer Park
- Abington at Haw Creek
- The Place Mobile Food Pantry
We will continue to research and secure potential locations. Due to COVID-19 and the timing of delivery, we will do a soft launch to initially introduce the new service and expand services as the circumstances evolve.
