Fowler Road Library Branch Manager

 As you know, FCPL has secured funding to build a fifth library branch on Fowler Road.  We anticipate opening this new branch (which we are currently calling the Fowler Road Library, but which is expected to receive an official name at the upcoming Library Board meeting) in approximately three years.  

While three years seems like a long time away, it will go quickly once we begin the design and construction phases.  The Fowler Road Library Branch Manager will play a crucial role in these phases, and we are happy to announce that Ann Decherd will fill that position.  Ann has served as Branch Manager of the Post Road Library since it opened in 2013, and before that in other roles at FCPL (Information Services Supervisor at the Sharon Forks Library,  Branch Manager of the Hampton Park Library, and Branch Manager of the Cumming Library).  Her experience with the opening of the Post Road Library, her oversight of the branch since, her commitment to excellence, and her passion for moving the library forward make Ann a very good fit for the Fowler Road position, and we wish her well in this new endeavor.

Ann is expected to continue to serve as the full-time Branch Manager at Post Road through the end of FY22.  We expect to ask for funding for the Fowler Road Branch Manager position at the beginning of FY23 (July 2022), which is when a new Branch Manager would begin at Post Road.  That is the point at which construction would likely begin at Fowler Road, and Ann would begin concentrating all her energy on the new branch.
