Beginning October 30, 2020, OverDrive will end support for older devices to align with current electronic security best practices. This change is designed to protect patron security and privacy.
This will most likely affect devices that were released in 2014 or earlier. These would include:
- Android devices that cannot upgrade to at least Android version 5
- early Kindle Fires
- early Samsung Galaxy tablets
- Kobo Arc devices
OverDrive recently began running a message to patrons on devices that potentially will be affected. The message will link to information that explains this change and provide information about needed upgrades.
