New Bookmarked Blog Editors

Since its debut in January of 2011, FCPL’s Bookmarked blog has kept FCPL patrons informed about library happenings, library resources, and staff recommendations. The blog boasts over 212,000 page views since its creation and received 5,947 views last month alone.

During the recent shelter in place order, Bookmarked featured articles on FCPL eResources and digital content available to patrons at home.

Updates on the library reopening and information on new FCPL offerings like chat and curbside checkout have proved extremely popular in 2020. FCPL’s blog on Curbside Pickup received an impressive 12,854 views!  

Recent blogs have highlighted eResources for job seekers and first-time homeschoolers and taught patrons how to access online newspapers and other digital content. Other summer blogs targeted crafters, film fans, and children of all ages. Bookmarked has also featured booklists on trending topics like race in America, Alexander Hamilton, and diverse reads, as well as ‘Armchair Bibliotherapy’ book recommendations for handling COVID-19 stresses like isolation, confusion, and anxiety.

FCPL’s Bookmarked blog team recently gained three new editors. Melissa Gunter at Cumming, Amy Whitten at Hampton Park, and Leslie Marinelli at Post Road joined Alicia Cavitt at Sharon Forks and Paula Glover at Headquarters as official blog editors.   

Bookmarked is all about variety so we encourage all staff members to share their favorite reads or other items of interest with our Bookmarked audience. Submit blog post articles to any blog editor or use the Blog Submission folder on Sharepoint to contribute.
