Bookstores will open October 1

Our regular bookstore customers will be excited to know that the three Friends and Advocates bookstores will reopen to the public on Thursday, October 1.

Because of social distancing requirements, there will be a maximum occupancy posted for each store, which will include both customers and Friends volunteers. Allowances will be made for people living in the same household:

Cumming               3 persons or 1 family unit
Sharon Forks         2 persons or 1 family unit
Post Road              1 person or 1 family unit

The Friends have made some adjustments to their pricing categories to make it simpler for both their volunteers and library staff, going from 19 different categories to 11 categories.

The Friends will also be hosting book donation drives at three of the branches from 10 to 2 on the following Saturdays:

Cumming                September 26
Sharon Forks         October 3
Post Road              October 10

Facilities is working with the Branch Managers on the logistics of each donation drive. Each drive will be staffed by Friends volunteers and all donations received will be quarantined for at least 72 hours.

Friends volunteers will follow the same guidelines regarding temperature checks that library volunteers and staff do. The Branch Managers will share the procedures for their particular location with the store managers.
