Contact-free Curbside Pickup (CCP) will be
provided at all Forsyth County Public Library branches.
By now everyone knows that we are going to
start offering Contact-Free Curbside Pickup on Monday, May 11th and
may be wondering exactly what that will look like for FCPL.
Patrons will call their branch to schedule a
pickup during these hours of operation:
Monday through Thursday from 12:00 noon to
7:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m.
Staff will check out items and package them
ahead of pickup time. Patrons will
arrive and park in a designated parking area to let staff know they have
arrived. Staff will take their package
to a table by the front entrance and enter the building. The patron will then exit their car and pick
up their package(s) and leave so the next person may get their package.
We have ordered banners for the table and
signage for the parking lot; both designed by Angela Bearden.
Returns will only be accepted through our book
drops and will be quarantined for 72 hours before being processed and
triggering hold notices.
How It
Works
How to make a request:
- Place holds for specific items through the library catalog and/orfill out the online form or call (770)781-9840 and select your branch.
- If you do not know specific titles you would like to request and would prefer for staff to browse the collection for you, please fill out the online form or call your branch.
- Please provide as much information about your reading preferences as possible.
- Staff will browse for up to 10 titles per patron.
- Staff will choose available titles at their branch and will not request titles from other branches to be delivered.Instructions for a Contact-free Curbside Pickup:
- Staff will collect your materials and you will receive a hold notification or phone call when items are on the hold shelf.
- Please call the library at (770)781-9840 to schedule an appointment to pick up your materials during CCP operating hours.
- When you arrive at the library, park in a designated CCP parking spot and call the number on the sign.
- If you do not have a cell phone or have mobility issues, please provide staff with the make, model, and color of your car when you schedule your appointment.
- We will check out your items onto your account and package them in paper bags.
- We will then open the door and put the package on the table at the front of the building. You may approach the table and take your package(s) as soon as staff returns to the building and closes the door.
- If you have mobility issues, let a staff member know, and we will place the package in your trunk.
- Please remain in your vehicle until the staff member has returned to the building.
