GLASS Service Options
GLASS (Georgia Libraries for Accessible Statewide Services)
is no longer mailing out talking book cartridges or machines. However
they now have staff set-up to provide patron support while staff work from
home. GLASS staff can enroll new patrons and explain how to install and
use the BARD Mobile App, Bookshare and a variety of other resources that help
people with print impairment. BARD mobile allows patrons to download
books onto mobile devices. A great advantage of this service is that GLASS
books do not have a waiting list for holds.
In addition to promoting and assisting GLASS
patrons with online content, GLASS staff offer telephone book discussion groups
and peer to peer support groups across the state. Visit GLASS to get an application or to learn more
about their services.
